January 8-12

Hello and Welcome back!!

I hope you all had a great winter break and a relaxing holiday season. It's hard to believe it's the new year already! Whew!

This week we: 

*worked on read to self and made it to three minutes!
*wrote new year's resolutions for Kindergarten and celebrated all we have accomplished in 2017!
*learned to play "telephone" at morning meeting
*learned all about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr and Ruby Bridges and why they are important
*focused on the letter Bb and practiced the difference between b and d
*worked on story problems and teen numbers

Next week we will: 

*focus on the letter Nn
*learn words in the -it word family
*work on our giant snowpeople
*continue to work on solving story problems and explaining our strategies
*continue to work with teen numbers

What to ask your kinder: 

*tell you about some friends at school
*retell a story we have read in class
*count numbers as high as he/she can. Can you get to 100 or higher??
*write the date using only numbers
*practice reading sight words around the house
